Don’t be confused. Buddhism tolerate all religion. Many southeast Asian countries incorporate Animism/Shamanism with Buddhism…. I am an animist and although you won’t see any buddhist elements, there is a branch in my culture, known as shamanic buddhist…….. hard to explain. Buddhism is not a religion, but a teaching instead, because there is no god…. and with that, it was able to co-exist well with other beliefs.

He said ( Do not believe just because your parents, your loved ones, your king, your fellow scholars, your teacher (that is Buddha himself )etc. told you to do so. Only when, the practice of Dhamma, tested for one’s peaceful existence as a human being with oneself and the rest, one must believe). He wants all to be totally independent .There’s no Doctrine in Buddhism
